Professional Life

In my professional life, I have been the producer of Seize the Day with Gus Lloyd on the Catholic Channel on SiriusXM since 2012. I’ve been with the channel for 11 years and with SiriusXM for 15 years. In my time there, I’ve produced five original audio documentaries that have aired nationally. The subjects have been Pope Francis (two parts), Pope Benedict XVI, Mother Teresa and the History of the Catholic Channel, which celebrated our 10th year. SiriusXM thought enough of the Mother Teresa and Pope Benedict documentaries to submit them for New York Festivals Awards.

Though I didn’t walk away a winner, it did spur me on to write a book. I’m a fan of all forms of popular music from the 1920s through the 1990s. I’m also an avid reader of music biographies and, after reading books about the Byrds, the Beach Boys, Bob Dylan and Simon & Garfunkel, I sought out a book on the Mamas & the Papas. When I couldn’t find one, I decided to write one. I had been searching for a subject and this one hit me right over the head.

Personal Life

I live in Riegelsville, Pennsylvania with my wife, two children and a pug who put up with my insatiable music obsession. I consider myself a preserver of vintage music from the 1940s through the 1990s. Not only do I shop for it like people shop for groceries, but I put a daily effort into not only enjoying it but learning about it, understanding those who put it together, studying its roots and sharing it with friends and family. I’m the consummate completist. I put the same effort into writing this book that I put into my vast music collection. I wanted to know everything, and I wanted the reader to know everything as well and I left no stone unturned, which is why I was able to get a publishing deal without any formal representation.
